Riverworks Development Corporation drives social and economic development by aligning residents and businesses with specialized resources that strengthen Harambee, Riverwest and surrounding communities.
Riverworks Development Corporation (RDC) is a 501(c)(3) in Milwaukee, WI. For nearly 30 years, our organization has been working with businesses and residents in the Harambee and Riverwest neighborhoods. RDC has two main "arms" - the social and economic divisions.
As you may know, Riverworks offers coordinated programs and services for residents and businesses in the Harambee and Riverwest neighborhoods with the goal of creating a thriving and prosperous community for all. Our emphasis on People, Place, and Prosperity offers comprehensive solutions to help our community move forward. Here are a few recent examples of our impact…
When Carla called the new Financial Navigator hotline, she was in trouble. She was about to lose her apartment, and unable to qualify for a new one due to past debt. Riverworks’ Financial Clinic Navigators and coaches helped her reorganize her finances and got Carla safely into a new apartment just in time.*
After significant success in the home improvement industry, Tony and Tina Smith found themselves in a difficult situation. Their business partnership had fallen apart, and the two were faced with starting over. Experts in sales and marketing, the Smiths had little experience with overall operations, financials, and licensing. Riverworks Business Development HUB helped them develop their new business model, obtain licensing, set up financial systems and understand cash flow. Over the last six months, their home improvement business has exploded and Tony and Tina now have control over their own growing business serving both Wisconsin and Iowa!*
You can help us aid people in financial crisis, increase home ownership, improve property conditions, ensure streets are safe and clean, provide healthy recreational opportunities for families, and help small businesses get back on their feet and grow. Please consider a donation to Riverworks Development Corporation to help us achieve these goals. Any individual, organization, or company can join our effort to strengthen our community!
Sincerely,
Darryl Johnson, Executive Director
p.s. Please join us next summer for our 2nd Annual Beerline Shuffle! It’s a fun day for the whole family, and a great way to see what’s happening on the Beerline Trail in the Harambee and Riverwest neighborhoods.
